I want to add a large database of people to the system, meaning that they will be able to get a user profile and log in details, is there any way I can do this so that they are added automatically, than individually putting in data for each one? So that it creates automatic passwords and user names?

I tried the spreadsheet however it is not converting to a xml sheet as it does not have xml mapping.

Hi,

In your case the preferred way would be to invoke the importUsers() SOAP call. You can view the WSDL file with http://<your domain>/webservice/soap/server.php#WSDL for information.

The password can either be ILIAS2, ILIAS3 or PLAIN. ILIAS will MD5 hash the plain password before storing.
I assume the other 2 are for the specific versions. May be someone from ILIAS can clue you in on that.

There's a ilias_user_4_0.dtd (for the 4.0 version) file in the XML directory that declares the format of the user xml data to be sent to ILIAS with the importUser call.

We send the password as PLAIN via https. Reusing MD5 passwords from other systems is a no go.

I understand what you are saying. But it seems that a blog, or a blog article, does not have a ref-id, only a wsp-id.

And if I use that wsp-id in the menu settings, then I get something completely different.

I think that a blog is not an object in the repository, it exists in someone's personal work space and doesn't have a ref-id? Is that a correct statement? Is it possible to have a blog object in the repository?

By the way, it works fine if I use the full URL, but then the Back link in the blog article points back to my personal work space, and I don't think that is good.

Maybe there is a different way? All I want is a tab that contains a blog for every user to see.

Thanks Pascal, but we need that users put certain attribute (for example, Gender) in their first logon, because, we don't obtain this attribute by Shibboleth.

and do the mapping Shibboleth-Attribut to ILIAS-Attribut

This is probably a stupid question but I cannot find the answer, so here it is:

I installed the new main menu plugin, and that works fine. To create a custom menu option, I need to enter a resource id. Where do I find those? I want a new tab "Blog" that points to a blog in my personal work space. I want this to be available to every user. But I cannot find a resource id for the blog. Am I approaching this the wrong way?

I would know if there is a description of those messages or if anyone has already worked on this.

The purpose of my research is, first, to list all the elements of language concerned in order to traduce all the messages and then to link all the automatic mails with the functionality witch send it.

Hallo Herr Kunkel,

am eigenen Skin kann es eigentlich nicht liegen. Das hatten wir auf der Testversion auch schon unter 4.2.3 im Einsatz und das PlugIn funktionierte.

Ich habe jetzt noch einmal alles komplett neu aufgesetzt und zum Abschluss das PlugIn installiert. Nun funktioniert es!

Ich weiß zwar nicht, was ich beim ersten Mal falsch gemacht habe, aber das Ergebnis zählt.

Scheinbar lag es am Fehler 65 :-) Das Problem sitzt 65 cm vor dem Bildschirm.

You go to Administration -> Editor -> Repository Settings ("Magazineinstellungen") and mark the checkbox that should say something like "Enable editing" (I am using a German version of Ilias). verwenden Sie ein "ILIAS out of the box"? Oder haben Sie Anpassungen gemacht / machen lassen? Nach dem Screenshot zu urteilen, verwenden Sie ein eigenes Skin, richtig? Versuchen Sie doch bitte einfach mal, ob das Plugin korrekt funktioniert, wenn Sie als User den "Delos"-Skin verwenden.

Hallo,

im Menüpunkt 'Aus- und Fortbildung' hatte ich einen Menüeintrag angelegt (Edit Items). Und auch die Hotfixes im Setup wurde vorher eingespielt. Aber ILIAS zeigt mir das angelegte Menü einfach nicht an. Bei der Version 4.2.3 lief es von Anfang an richtig.

Vielleicht hat es etwas damit zu tun, dass ich die Version 4.2.4 auf unserem Testsystem komplett neu, inkl. Datenbank angelegt, also ganz neu aufgesetzt habe? Kommt das PlugIn mit 4.2.4 evtl. dann nicht zu recht, wenn das System nicht upgegradet sondern neu installiert ist? Bin da jetzt ziemlich ratlos und verunsichert.

Etwas beruhigt bin ich, dass die Homepage von ILIAS nun auf 4.2.4 läuft und die Menüs funktionieren. Dann muss es ja gehen.

Aber ich bekomme es auf meinen localen Testintallationen nicht hin und habe daher bedenken das in unser Produktivsystem zu übernehmen. Dort würden wir das PlugIn aber unbedingt benötigen, weil wir damit eine bessere Navigationsstruktur für unser Bildungsportal aufbauen können.

Wenn noch eine Idee da ist, spiele ich die gern mal durch.

Hallo,

die ILIAS-Homepage läuft jetzt auch auf 4.2.4 und die angepassten Menüs sind dort alle sicht- und nutzbar.

Ist denn im Menüpunkt "Aus- und Fortbildung" auch ein Menüeintrag vorhanden?

Wurden beim Wechsel auf 4.2.4 die Hotfixes im Setup durchgeführt? (die haben zwar nichts direkt mit dem Plugin zu tun, aber man weiß ja nie...)

Wie aktiviert man passwortgeschützte Feeds?

RSS ist ja eine feine Sache in ILIAS. Ich möchte aber nur Infos noch Außen geben, die mit einem Passwort geschützt sind. ILIAS bietet dazu die Möglichkeit, einen "privaten Newsfeed" zu aktivieren. Aber es läuft nicht. RSS-Clients zeigen nur öffentliche Feeds an und für die authentifizierten Feeds wird auch ein Username benötigt. In ILIAS kann man aber nur ein Passwort für einen Feed generieren - wie lautet der Username? Ich habe alles versucht, es geht einfach nicht. Diese Anleitung hilft mir nicht:

Hallo,

das Leifos PlugIn zur eigenen Gestaltung des Hauptmenüs ist ja wirklich sehr nützlich. Unter ILIAS 4.2.3 haben meine Tests damit bisher sehr gute Ergebnisse gezeigt.

Nun habe ich meine Testumgebung auf 4.2.4 umgestellt. Aus technischen Gründen musste ich das System (xampp+ILIAS+Datenbank) komplett neu aufsetzen und konfigurieren.

Zum Schluss habe ich dann wieder das PlugIn installiert. In der Administration von ILIAS finde ich dann auch das PlugIn, kann es aktvieren und konfigurieren.

Nun fällt mir aber auf, dass von mir eingerichtetet Menüs nicht angezeigt werden.

Beispiel:

Ich will nicht das Standard-Magazin-Menü mit Einstiegsseite und zuletzt besucht nutzen, sondern ein eigenes Magazin-Menü mit Unterpunkten anlegen.

Vorgehensweise:

Ich gehe in die Administration, rufe den PlugIn-Slot auf und klicke auf 'Konfigurieren'.

Klick auf 'Add Menu'

In der erscheinenden Eingabemaske wähle ich 'Custom' und trage als 'Menu Title' 'Magazin ein, als 'Visibility' stelle ich 'Public Area Only' ein und speichere.

Anschließend aktiviere ich das neue Menü und kann Untermenüs (Items) einrichten.

Aber das Menü 'Magazin' wird mir nicht angezeigt. Auch eine Aktualisierung der Ansicht bringt keine Änderung.

Das macht mich stutzig denn unter 4.2.3 hatte ich ohne Probleme mehrere funktionierende Menüpunkte eingebaut.

Kann es sein, dass das PlugIn in der vorliegenden Form mit der Version 4.2.4 nicht zusammenarbeitet???

Hi everyone,

While not sure whether it is the right forum's category, I ll post my question: in the learning process tab, I want to hide the percentage column (as I have uploaded some scorm modules). Does anyone know how i can do that? There is no option from the admin menu, and so I have to go to some file. Another option would be that I want to hide it for the students, but not for the tutors, which means that could be changed from the roles menu, but I don't know how!

Also, while the tutor can move to the tracking data for a course and see the values of the answers for a test, I was wondering if (how) we can create a kind of a shortcut, where the tutor after logging in, can move directly to the tracking data of a course, or see the tracking data of a student etc.

Nun, am schnellsten geht das über "Administration - Rollen", dann auf die entsprechende Rolle klicken, z.B. "User", und im Register "Benutzerzuweisung" findet man einen Button "Mail an alle zugewiesenen Benutzer".

Hi, Im really new to Ilias but I need to have another method to creare users inside Ilias without having to ask an administrator for this but within another website.

The company CMS is hoste on DotNetNuke and I need to replicate the user creation when someone creates an account in DNN, the same data is created within Ilias. Ive already developed a solution to do the same but with Moodle, that was made because someone deployed a WebService to create the users.

The problem here resides in the fact I dont know the type of encryption needed by Ilias to store the password of the recently created account in DotNetNuke, I have all the structure needed to obtain this information within DNN, but then I need to replicate the user to Ilias.

Anyone has ever tried to create a username with a WebService or direct injection into the Ilias database?.

Thanks in advance for any kind of guidance you can provide me.

Look for the file templates\default\delos.css and add the next code to the file :

div.ilPermaLink * { display:none }

This code CSS hide all inside of that element ilPermaLink.

Is there, but is not visible.

Of course , you can add and remove from the list.

The steps to add :

1) Go to Administration

2) Third Party Software

3) Social Bookmarks

After tha you can see the code that you need for every social network site.

For ejemple for facebook :

You just need to "Create" another social bookmark, the code for Linkedin :

Hat sich erledigt. Falscher Pfad zur chatserver.jar. War noch die alte JAR-Datei aus 4.1. Dieser Pfad ist richtig:

java -jar /var/www/ilias/Modules/Chatroom/server/Chatserver.jar server.properties client.properties

In my case it was a misconfiguration in Squid.
I had an issue open on the bug-tracker, which we closed when my problem was solved. So all i can say is, check if you´re behind a reverse proxy or sth. like that. :-)

Has anyone opened a bug report on this issue? This is always the best way to communicate a problem and force it's solution. Maintainer of ILIAS modules have to monitor the Mantis bug reports. But not all of them are reading forum postings continuously.

Comet chat is a commercial chat tool that is similar to the Facebook chat. According to our colleagues from Lucerne university it works fine. But I have no experience in it.

Is there a way to add to or remove from the list of Social Bookmarking entries? I see a lot of entries I've never even heard of, while I don't see LinkedIn which is the most-widely used professional social media tool in Holland and Belgium (and probably in many more countries).

took a couple of times ilias-version 4.2.3, however, everyone hash check the same meaning that has nothing to download. The Hash chek is bc2d662a0a7ba661a465352389235295

Ich habe soeben festgestellt, dass in der ./Services/Init/classes/class.ilStartUpGUI.php die Bezeichner "Available Clients", "Installation Name", "Public Access" und "Login" hart kodiert sind, anstatt auf die Language-Files zuzugreifen (sowohl in der v4.1.4 stable als auch in der v4.2.3 stable).

Gibt es hierfür einen Grund oder ist das ein "Bug"?

ich habe ein paar Fragen zur Beeinflussung des Aussehens der Mandanten-Auswahl (Client List).

Wie ändere ich die Sprache der Mandanten-Auswahl?
Obwohl die System-Sprache sämtlicher Mandanten (auch des Default-Mandanten) auf Deutsch steht, wird die Mandanten-Auswahl auf Englisch angezeigt.
Selbst wenn lang=de als CGI-Parameter übergeben wird oder in der ilias.ini.php analog zur client.ini.php ein [language]-Eintrag mit default="de" hinzugefügt wird, bleibt die Mandanten-Auswahl auf Englisch. Alle Sprachdateien sind vollständig vorhanden.

Wie beeinflusse ich die Reihenfolge der Mandanten in der Mandanten-Auswahl?
Ist es möglich die Reihenfolge der Mandanten in der Mandanten-Auswahl zu beeinflussen? Nach welchen Kriterien werden die Einträge sortiert?
Komfortabel wäre es, wenn man in der ilias.ini.php unter dem Abschnitt [clients] oder in den client.ini.php unter dem Abschnitt [client] eine manuelle Reihenfolge, z.B. über ein position-Eintrag, festlegen könnte, der gegenüber einer automatischen Sortierung Vorrang hat.
Weiterhin könnte man über einen weiteren Konfigurationseintrag auch eine Gruppierung von Mandanten vornehmen.

Kann man die Verlinkung zu den Start-Seiten im Einzelfall ausblenden?
Bei jedem Mandanten in der Mandanten-Auswahl wird sowohl ein Link zur Start-Seite als auch ein Link zur Login-Seite angezeigt. Der Link zur Start-Seite macht aber nur dann Sinn, wenn es in dem entsprechenden Mandanten einen öffentlichen Bereich gibt, da ein Besucher beim Klicken auf den Link zur Start-Seite ebenfalls auf der Login-Seite landet. Insofern wäre es intuitiver den Link zur Start-Seite (d.h. zum öffentlichen Bereich) schon hier in der Mandanten-Auswahl nur dann anzuzeigen, wenn in dem Mandanten ein öffentlicher Bereich aktiviert ist.

Wie deaktiviere ich die Baumstruktur in einem ILIAS-Forum? Auf meinem Sub-Notebook wird der Platz langsam knapp :-)

Hallo Leute!

Was bedeutet denn diese Einstellung?

'http://domain.de/ilias/webservice/soap/server.php?wsdl'

Was ist in diesem Zusammenhang eine wsdl-Datei? Auf meinem Server gibts sowas nicht. Muss man das anlegen, damit SOAP funktioniert? Denn ob ich diesen Pfad angebe oder nicht bzw. die Chekbox "Administration über SOAP" aktiviere oder nicht, hat offenbar keine Auswirkungen auf Fehlermeldungen.

Es handelt sich um einen Debian Squeeze vServer. Lait PHP-Info ist SOAP aktiviert.

Infos sind zu diesem Thema schwer zu finden.
