When starting a SCORM 2004-module every database table possibly storing data is queried - also such tables which contain only sometimes data (e.g. comments, interactions). Setting flags in cmi_node-table (contains always data), indicating which tables are containing data, would increase speed because when restarting the SCORM 2004-module only tables containing data would be queried.
