ILIAS open source Forums

After years of using PHPBB for our public ILIAS forums, the management board of the ILIAS society decided to move these forums to the ILIAS Information Center and to use ILIAS' own forum software. Main reasons for this decision were heavy user administration workload, especially with robot registrations, and missing integration with other parts of the ILIAS Information Center.

This move gives us also the opportunity to restructure the forums according to the user needs and to reduce their number. We also stop the distinction between user and developer forums. All feature suggestions should be posted directly to the ILIAS feature wiki. The following new forums are offered for discussion:

• ILIAS Core
• Accessibility, Usability and User Interface
• Personal Desktop and General Services
• Course and Group Management
• Learning and Content Management
• Exercise, Survey and Test&Assessment
• Communication and Syndication
• Administration and Installation

All old forums here were kept for documentation and research. At July 1, ILIAS will start with the new ILIAS forums.
