Hi all,

can anyone recomend a pipline for developing Styles/Templates?
I used to build Sites with dreamweaver, but somehow i get stuck
in running a local test installation of ilias under xampp.

Can anyone give me some hints how to set up a local testing envirnoment?

I would recommend to build up an ILIAS installation using XAMPP because you need to test your template and style modifications in a real ILIAS system (with a running PHP). Otherwise you cannot be sure if your changes work properly.

I am working on a MAC using MAMP and it was really easy to set up. Thanks to Helmut there is a very good installation instruction for MAMP. But the XAMPP one is pretty good too. And if you only use this installation for testing style modifications you do not need to install Java support and other special programms or libs.

I went through the tutorial found on:

But after completion i get following error:

Client dialog does not exist. Please reload this page to return to the default client

The Apache Webserver and Mysql are running.
The Xampp testing page works fine:
