Hello,

I have a Java Applet and need it for a lot of test's. So I don't want to upload the jar file every time. Instead I want to give a Reference to a Media Pool or something like that and I found this thread:

http://www.ilias.de/iosbb/viewtopic.php?p=12198

But I don't understand it because I have only the oportunity to upload a file and not to edit a html file or something like that ?!

Sorry, but it is not possible to use applets from media pools for test questions.

Regards,
Helmut

Maybe I should give you the reason for this: If you put the applet in a media pool and you change it, it would be changed in every referenced test question too (because it's only a reference) and this undermines the integrety of a test.

Sorry again,

Helmut

Aaah and sorry again :)

I see that you don't want to use it for a java applet question. You want to insert it as media in the content part of a question?

Simply add your applet to a media pool. Then select the applet and copy it to the clipboard.
In the test question, go to "Edit content" and select "Paste from Clipboard" where you want to insert the applet.
Done.

Regards,
Helmut

To answer your question: It is not possible to import HTML-Code with the applet parameters. You need to upload your class/jar file in the media pool, set the size and add the parameters of the applet in the parameters text field. <param name="xx" value="yy"/> has to be entered xx="yy" in the parameters text field. If there is more than one parameter, separate the parameters with comma.

Helmut

Hello and sorry for the delay,

What you say about the Test Integrity makes sence. I talk about "Java Applet Questions". I can upload a jar file from my client computer. But I want to upload the jar file from a media pool or general from an URL into the Java Applet Question to make the creation of a Question easier. Maybe this is more a feature request ....

Thank you for ILIAS
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

this would be an useful feature of course. Even if this means that the applet has to be duplicated for every test. But you only have to upload it once into the system and you only have to configure it once...
Regards,
Helmut
