Hi!

I suggest to edit a phrase in English, in the 'Exercise' object.

"You have not submitted any files."
or
"You have no submitted files."

instead of the current (v 3.10.6)

"You do not have submitted any files."

I have noticed one or two English mistakes on ILIAS.

For example
Under "Settings" for a course we have "Course Informations" which should be "Course Information"

I don't know how to report this anywhere else.

If I remember right, the mistake mentioned above is still there....

It's fixed in the new language files.

On your webserver go to /language/ilias_en.lang
Open this with a UTF-8 compliant editor (not notepad in Windows)
Search for the string you want to change, edit it, and save.
Go to Administration -> Language and update languages.

I'm sorry but you have totally lost me there. I just teach a language course, I'm not the administrator. Would it be better if I told our administrator here in Karslruhe?

I will fill in a report in Mantis for you. What is the other mistake you noticed apart from the wrong plural?

Another one is: when I set up an exercise, I have the option to
"add students of this course"

German English

It should be:
"Add students from this course"

Also
Under "remaining working time" (for exercises and probably other things)
we get the message
"time is over"

"Time is up" is the English phrase or "the time allocated for completing this exercise is over".

I have just found another one which occurs if a participant is too late to submit a file/exercise:
"You have reached the end time of the exercise. You cannot longer deliver files!"

This should be
"The time allocated for completing this exercise is over. Files cannot be submitted anymore."

Every time I want to upload a document, I have to click on "durchsuchen" even though this is the English version of ILIAS. Surely that could be changed to "browse".

Unfortunately this won't fix, since these buttons are browser elements. HTML or ILIAS language files cannot influence this behavior. If you installed the German version of your browser those buttons will automatically show German text.

Interestingly enough just changing the preferred language for websites in the settings of Firefox or IE8 did not work for me. I had to explicitly install the English version of a browser (I chose Opera). Et voilà: With the English version the button reads "Choose". So this would be a workaround to get an "All-English-ILIAS".
