In a first stage news objects should support a news list ordered by date that could by administrated by users with write permission for the object. Each news item contains a title and a description. It should also be possible to feed a news object by an external RSS source. Like other objects news objects can be placed on the personal desktop. They should also be linked to other objects, e.g. to learning modules. This means that a news object would appear in the learning module menu.

Many other systems have Announcement feature, but with ILIAS, News System is very old topic.
May I know, what had been done?
News System could be very useful.
