ILIAS 4.1 Features
The features below are part of ILIAS release 4.1. The first stable release 4.1.0 has been published at September 10, 2010. With ILIAS 4.1 we will stop supporting Microsoft's outdated Internet Explorer Version 6. | Features are assigned to the following categories:

- Non-Container Items in Repository Tree: show all resource items of the repository in the repository tree. - Multiple Assignments per Exercise: allows to put multiple assignments into one exercise; includes also several usability improvements of the exercise tool. (Funded by Uni Stuttgart; Implementation: LEIFOS; Status: implemented)
- Notification for tutors: ILIAS sends a notification alerting the lecturer when someone handed in his/her submission. (Funded by tecteam and Qualitus; Implementation: LEIFOS; Status: implemented)
- Survey improvements: New question type and extensions of survey functionality (Funding: Helmut Schmidt Universität, PH Thurgau, Universität Bern; Implementation: Helmut Schottmüller; Status: implemented)
Communication and Syndication
- Course forum notification: Members of a course (and group) should be notified automatically about new postings in a course/group forum. They do not need to activate the forum notification manually. - Restrict Mail for Learners to prevent learners from sending mails to global roles (Funding: Universität zu Köln; Implementation: Nadia Ahmad / Databay AG; Status: implemented)

- Notification of involved users about new/changed course/group appointments: Course/group members should get a notification mail, when a new appointment is added, an existing appointment is changed or an appointment is deleted. Abandoned Features
With ILIAS 4.1 the following features will no longer be supported:
- Feature that allows users to start the tasks of a cron job via a HTTP request
- Import of ILIAS 2 forums into ILIAS 4
- Course archives (obsolete due to new export feature)
